The first step was to understand our current Carbon Footprint and its impact on our planet. To ensure we had all the independent information we needed, JTRS chose to work with PlanetMark, as our partner whose own values are aligned with ours, as well as being one of the leading experts in sustainability certifications in the UK. To understand our current carbon footprint, we carried out a rigorous audit looking across our entire business activities. This report is a detailed summary of our current carbon footprint and the starting point to measure year-on-year improvements.

Audit

The audit stage is a significant part of the JTRS journey, as ensuring we reach our overall sustainability vision, we understand that this should be measurable. To track improvements accurately and consistently. The annual sustainability audit, carried out by PlanetMark, will be a business commitment going forward.

We are committed to achieving net-zero status by 2035, 15 years ahead of the UK Government's target.

As part of our offset, JTRS partnered-up with Ecologi. Ecologi was initially founded by a group of environmentalists in Bristol, UK. Their realization that there are billions of concerned people on this planet who care, but don’t know how to make a meaningful contribution; made them set up Ecologi. The projects they support, on behalf of JTRS and others, are focusing on reforestation, renewables, efficient cooking stoves, and are all ranked to the highest verification standards in terms of climate change solutions.

We are committed to change and believe everyone has a part to play in protecting the planet for future generations. This is why we have committed to invest in our employees and be a climate positive workforce. This means that we are offsetting every employee's annual carbon footprint.
